Vinyl FAQs
What is vinyl flooring and how is it made?
Vinyl is a strong, easy-to-clean flooring option designed to look like a variety of traditional flooring types including natural stone, ceramic, and wood. It’s a great way to get the high-end style of these looks without the same cost.
Vinyl flooring is made by layering several materials that are highly stable and water-resistant.
What’s the difference between luxury vinyl tile, luxury vinyl plank, and sheet vinyl flooring?
There isn’t a ton of difference between these three types of vinyl. In fact, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) are broadly the same product that is cut into different shapes. The former is generally made to look and feel like tile while the latter is designed to look like hardwood. Sheet vinyl, on the other hand, is a more traditional form of vinyl flooring made from long, continuous rolls of product that often gets adhered to a subfloor.
Where can vinyl floors be installed?
Just about anywhere in the home! Vinyl is fashionable and available in such a broad range of styles that it can look good in any design. On top of that, vinyl floors are wear- and water-resistant, making them ideal for bathrooms and kitchens. You can even install vinyl in basements.
